We meet at the Riverside Centre, Newport on the first Thursday of every month, 10.00 am – 13.00 pm. Refreshments are available. The group is formed of female patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The women find support talking amongst themselves to help each other through treatment as well as dealing with the personal and intimate aspects of breast cancer. This can be at any time during the cancer journey; from diagnosis through treatment and afterwards. A different topic of interest is introduced at each meeting to help patients to understand and manage their cancer. Health professionals as well as therapists and other speakers, will help patients to stay active, to have a healthier life, as well as giving them confidence in living with breast cancer.

As from October I have decided we will try holding Craft Club twice a month again (1st Thursday and 3rd Tuesday) still at the Church Hall from 2.00 to 4.00 p.m. At the second one I thought we would try something a bit different and have a go at making what seem to be known as “rag wreaths” – strips of co-ordinating material tied onto a circular frame (I will bring one along this Tuesday so you can see what I mean). As usual I will bring along frames and material (both Christmassy and non Christmas) but if any of you would like to bring your own material, please do. We will discuss this a bit more on Tuesday but as usual I will bring papercrafting materials this week. Look forward to seeing you (if you can make it!!) The club is non-profit making (a nominal charge of £4 per person per meeting which includes crafts and a cuppa) and proceeds cover the cost of the hire of the Church Hall and refreshments. Any surplus funds are used to purchase materials for future meetings. Email:firstname.lastname@example.org Prices: £4 per person per meeting Phone:01983 406273 Website:bragiow.co.uk
