The new Brading shed has its home at the Brading Youth Club. The intention of this shed is to make it an integral part of the Brading Community, bringing together men from the area to help maintain and improve the facility, as well as providing a space for other events to take place. Brading Community Partnership is looking to turn the Youth Club into a community asset, for the benefit of all. We meet every Thursday from 10am to 12pm. Please wear suitable clothing (for activities, such as painting). You can just turn up on the day, or of you would like to talk, please get in touch with us on the details below. The next step up from Urgent Care is Emergency Care. Emergency Care is provided by the Emergency Department at St. Mary’s or by calling a 999 ambulance. The Emergency Department and 999 are for life threatening situations e.g. major trauma or loss of blood, unconsciousness, chest pain, etc.
Urgent Care Service (UCS) (formerly Beacon Health Centre) is co-located with the Emergency Department at St Mary’s and treats urgent care needs. Those attending the Urgent Care Service will have been advised to do so by a health professional – doctor, dentist, optician, pharmacist, nurse, paramedic, etc. Those attending the Urgent Care Service, depending on their needs, will be seen by a nurse, a community practitioner or a GP. The Urgent Care Service will redirect individuals to other services where the individual does not have an urgent care need and their problem can be better dealt with by another service. *Please note that it is no longer possible to see a GP at the Urgent Care Service between 8am and 6.30pm on weekdays. At these times, people will need to make appointments with their GP practice.

What is NHS 111? It’s a new NHS telephone number to help make it easier for you to access local health services. If you live in, or are visiting the Isle of Wight you can now call 111 when you need medical help fast, but it isn’t a 999 emergency. You will be assessed, given advice and directed straightaway to the local service that can help you best. That could be A&E, an out of hours doctor, a walk-in centre, community nurse, emergency dentist or a late opening chemist. You can ring the 111 number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Calls from landlines and mobile phones are free.

Admission is free and the Sanctuary is open 7 days a week from 10am – 4.30pm all year round. Additionally, the Sanctuary runs special events during the Christmas period. A calendar of events appears on the website. Click Here for our Calendar of Events The prime aim of the sanctuary is to provide a home for unwanted donkeys. Usually there are more than 100 animals in our care – usually over 90 donkeys and 25 horses and ponies. These animals have led a variety of lives, but they all have one thing in common – they need a home. The reasons for needing a home can be varied. Registered Charity Number: 1159886
