As such the NHS Trust provides a variety of Mental Health services for adults and children, both in community and in-patient facilities. A new Facebook page has been set up which will share information about its services, signpost and offer self-help tips and begin to create an Island mental health community.
Vectis Radio is the Isle of Wight’s community radio station, ‘for the people, by the people’ and is manned by local volunteers. On November 4th 2017, Vectis Radio went live on FM104.6. The Older and Wiser programme will run the first and third Wednesday of each month at 3pm – 4pm and will inform Islanders about projects and initiatives that are taking place across the Island, together with Age Friendly Island, to enhance the lives of our older residents, presented by James & Judith.

The Living Well approach is a new person-centred, holistic way of providing co-ordinated health and social care. The Living Well approach aims to support people to lead fulfilling lives and maintain independence through early prevention, self-help and by empowering people to take positive steps to manage their own health and wellbeing.
The Stay Well This Winter Campaign is a joint initiative, from NHS England and Public Health England, to help people with long-term conditions and those over 65 prepare for winter and ward off common winter illnesses. Cold weather can be seriously bad for your health. That’s why it’s important to look after yourself, especially during the winter. If you start to feel unwell, even if it’s a cough or a cold, don’t wait until it gets more serious. Seek advice from your pharmacist. You are eligible for the free flu vaccine if you are pregnant, are aged 65 years or over, have a long term health condition*, or are a carer. Children aged 2 or 3 years are also eligible.
