The Isle of Wight Festival of Running will be back from 1st June – 3rd June 2018! (more details to follow) The Isle of Wight Festival of Running is a three day event designed with the whole family in mind. Whether you have just taken up running with a Couch to 5k programme, looking a marathon or half marathon that combines stunning scenery and a challenging course or want to push yourself to the limit with a half iron distance triathlon – we have a race for you! Plus there is onsite camping and access to all the facilities the Sports Centre has to offer!

A traditional country show, just like you remember. The 2018 show will take place on Sunday 8th July from 10:00am to 5:00pm at the Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society Show Ground, Northwood PO31 8QU. Children under 16 go free (when accompanied by an adult)
Hundreds of classic owners agreed the 2017 event was the best Isle of Wight International Classic Car show to date, although organiser Victor Gallucci explained that after 16 years of classics visiting the Island, each year he looked to improve and 2018 will be even bigger and better. The dates for both days have now been confirmed and for those planning their first Cross-Solent visit the simple truth is book early. Victor does enjoy some fantastic support via Wight Link Ferries transporting hundreds of cars, loaded with enthusiasts across the Solent for the ‘charity driven’ two-day festival. The Saturday will be held at the Newport Quay venue from 10.00am. Alongside the River Medina in the centre of the Island; Saturday is traditionally the quieter day of the weekend but visitors stream in from early doors to take advantage of some unique and rare machines on view. This year the American car section increased dramatically drawing stunning stateside V8’s from as far north as Barnsley in Yorkshire. For one night only, ‘furiously fabulous females’ aka THEM 2, acclaimed poet, Donna Jones MBE and award-winning writer, Joan Ellis, will perform their quirky mix of poetry, prose and anecdotes in aid of Earl Mountbatten Hospice, at 7pm on Thursday 19 April 2018. THEM 2 mine pasts more chequered than Donna’s golf trousers to create an evening of love, life and laughter in the relaxed environment of the John Cheverton Centre. After taking early retirement in 2010, Donna moved to the Isle of Wight to focus on her writing and poetry. Donna performs widely across the UK and North Carolina, and has published three poetry books. Joan performs at spoken word and literary festivals, including this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, and has penned four 5* books. Admission to the evening is £10 and tickets for the event are available on the evening on the door so no booking is necessary, and includes wine and canap?s, with all proceeds going to the hospice.
