The new Brading shed has its home at the Brading Youth Club. The intention of this shed is to make it an integral part of the Brading Community, bringing together men from the area to help maintain and improve the facility, as well as providing a space for other events to take place. Love, Life & Laughter – THEM 2
For one night only, ‘furiously fabulous females’ aka THEM 2, acclaimed poet, Donna Jones MBE and award-winning writer, Joan Ellis, will perform their quirky mix of poetry, prose and anecdotes in aid of Earl Mountbatten Hospice, at 7pm on Thursday 19 April 2018. THEM 2 mine pasts more chequered than Donna’s golf trousers to create an evening of love, life and laughter in the relaxed environment of the John Cheverton Centre. After taking early retirement in 2010, Donna moved to the Isle of Wight to focus on her writing and poetry. Donna performs widely across the UK and North Carolina, and has published three poetry books. Joan performs at spoken word and literary festivals, including this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, and has penned four 5* books. Admission to the evening is £10 and tickets for the event are available on the evening on the door so no booking is necessary, and includes wine and canap?s, with all proceeds going to the hospice. The Springboard Drop in Sessions – Newport
The drop in Springboard sessions are running well and are available to all and are running with good numbers. No appointment is necessary, just come in and tell us what you would like to learn and we will take it from there. Functional Skills such as Maths, English and Computing are available for free as well as the range of vocational packs, employability skills and assistance online with such systems as Universal Job match.
