Community Navigator Drop-in sessions at Cowes Library 4th Tuesday of every month 10.30am – 12pm
As from October I have decided we will try holding Craft Club twice a month again (1st Thursday and 3rd Tuesday) still at the Church Hall from 2.00 to 4.00 p.m. So the next one will be this Tuesday 18th September and then in October Thursday 4th and Tuesday 16th. At the second one (16 October) I thought we would try something a bit different and have a go at making what seem to be known as “rag wreaths” – strips of co-ordinating material tied onto a circular frame (I will bring one along this Tuesday so you can see what I mean). As usual I will bring along frames and material (both Christmassy and non Christmas) but if any of you would like to bring your own material, please do. We will discuss this a bit more on Tuesday but as usual I will bring papercrafting materials this week. Look forward to seeing you on Tuesday (if you can make it!!) The club is non-profit making (a nominal charge of £4 per person per meeting which includes crafts and a cuppa) and proceeds cover the cost of the hire of the Church Hall and refreshments. Any surplus funds are used […]
Would you like to join our new group? Learn how to use a digital camera? Edit your photos? Enjoy a walk at the same time? We shall grow the availability of cameras to borrow / use each other’s equipment / make available a shared digital platform to enable us to post, show and discuss. We hope to explore the personal and expressive use of our assorted equipment to not only take “happy snaps / picturesque /memorable moments” but also photos with personal and symbolic meaning for us; capturing an emotion, a mood, humanity and mother nature in its many forms; photos to reflect ordinary moments or spectacular importance – for those involved. Digital facilitates experimentation – so let’s explore being creative to produce photos of which we are proud to have captured. If you are interested, please leave your name and telephone number, stating that it is for the photography group and we will be in touch. For Carers please ring to leave your details.
