Isle of Wight Festival 21st – 24th June, 2018. Starting the summer in style, the award winning Isle of Wight Festival takes place in June every year in the town of Newport and is steeped in history and recognised around the world for its amazing line-up, mixing legendary artists with the hottest up and coming acts. Kasabian, Liam Gallagher, Depeche Mode and The Killers will headline the Isle of Wight Festival 2018. The Script, Van Morrison, Blossoms and James Bay will also perform at the 50th anniversary festival, which takes place from June 21st to 24th at Seaclose Park, Newport. The popular West Wight Triathlon is an ideal race for first timers but challenging enough for more experienced racers. It incorporates a pool swim, spectacular cycle along the Military Road, along the south west coast of the Isle of Wight and flat run along the picturesque River Yar. Transition is in the field adjoining the Sports Centre where the pool is located. Online entries for the 2018 Chilly Hilly are now open! A race to warm you up this winter, a 10 mile cross country run taking in some of the most spectacular views and hills the West Wight has to offer. The event will start and finish at the West Wight Sports and Community Centre. You must be 16 or over to participate in this event. Date for Shipwreck Isle 2018 is Sunday 8th July. A one day spectacular ‘Shipwreck Isle’ is coming…. Get dressed up in your best pirate gear and help defend our Island. Located in Ryde and Appley Beach over this fantastic weekend, it is an event NOT TO BE MISSED and free to attend.
Held on the First Thursday of each month 2pm – 4pm and now selected Tuesdays’ our Craft Club gives people the opportunity to meet and learn new crafts, and make new friends. The club is non-profit making (a nominal charge of £4 per person per meeting which includes crafts and a cuppa) and proceeds cover the cost of the hire of the Church Hall and refreshments. Any surplus funds are used to purchase materials for future meetings. Pam who runs the club is a BRAG member with an interest in card making. Pam will help you if you have never tried before.
