Event Details
At our Church Anniversary in 2017 a good friend spoke some special words over us that they believed God had given them to tell us. It was all based around a description of the Lemon Tree which is in the walled garden at Osbourne House. (you can read it in full here: www.theapexchurch.org/our-vision
In one part of this he talked about us being a church that would be life giving to others, and that whether people had deep needs or were just looking for some help and support, they would be able to “find health and freedom under our shade.” And that is the heart of Bridges.
We simply want to empower members of our local community to access any help and support they might need, by providing a listening ear and a resource of information, so that we can point you in the right direction. We also hope that this will help the local community to understand a bit more about our Christian faith along the way.
We are available every second and fourth Friday of the month between 10am-2pm.

Open day at Isle of Wight cancer support centre for anyone affected by cancer or working in cancer services
The open day will be an informal opportunity to pop along and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake and find out how the Centre can support you
Wessex Cancer Trust is holding an open day at its Isle of Wight cancer support centre on Friday 15th July between 10am and 4pm – 21 at Lugley Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5HD.
Anyone affected by cancer or working in cancer services can simply drop in and find out about the support available.
Garland: Living with cancer can be tough
Laura Garland, Manager of the Isle of Wight Support Centre, says she understands taking the first steps to cancer support can be daunting.
“Living with cancer can be tough and you may be experiencing thoughts and feelings that you’re not used to. Maybe you’d like to chat with someone outside of your main circle of friends and family.
“Our open day will be an informal opportunity to come along and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake and find out how we can support you.
“You’ll be very welcome and under no pressure to sign up for anything. Whatever you’re going through and however you’re feeling, we’re here to support you in the way that’s right for you.”
The Support Centre provides free and local support to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. You can simply drop-in and chat with qualified befrienders, arrange counselling and complementary therapies or join wellbeing activities and support groups.
The Centre has private treatment rooms and a welcoming lounge.
Where and when?
The open day takes place on Friday 15th July between 10am and 4pm at 21 Lugley Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5HD.
If you can’t make the open day but would like to find out more, visit visit the Website, call 01983 524186 or email isleofwight@wessexcancer.org.uk
