Event Details
We opened the bridge club at the Pavilion in September 2013 and players were thrilled at being able to play a serious game of bridge in a friendly and helpful environment. This prompted us to test the water in creating training sessions for those who wished to learn the game and we have trained over 30 who now play at the club.
You don’t need a partner and beverages and biscuits are provided for a great afternoons bridge for just £3. All playing standards welcome. Average 5 to 6 tables per session.

We started in September 2013 with the help of Age UK IW and the majority of us organisers are in their Good Neighbour Scheme. We seemed to set off with a bang straight off and now regularly have between 24 and 30 turn up.
Seagrove Seniors social club is a warm and friendly club for all people in the area of a certain age!
We meet on alternate Wednesdays between 2 and 4 o’clock in the pavilion and charge £2 per session.
It’s a great place to meet up with old friends or to make new ones, we try to vary our programme a bit , but there is always a fiendish quiz and lots of tea and home made cakes.
Do come along and give us a try.

SingAbout in Bembridge every Thursday from 10.30am to 12.30pm
SingAbout is a social singing activity based on recognised music therapy, run by Independent Arts on the Isle of Wight. It can help to improve your memory, breathing, speech, movement and confidence.
It’s a great opportunity to get out and meet people. Refreshments are provided. Everyone welcome.
Singing has been shown to help manage various long term conditions including dementia, cancer, respiratory and coronary illnesses as well as providing a boost to combat depression and other mental illnesses. SingAbout makes you feel good!
We include a variety of music including traditional rounds and rhymes, songs from the shows and musical hall favourites as well as popular music and rock and roll.
Our weekly sessions in towns across the Isle of Wight are open to all. A voluntary donation is appreciated.
No musical background is necessary so come along and try it!
Carers and family members are welcome to attend.

Event Details
Mindful Moments is a chance to explore mindfulness and creativity, promoting feelings of wellbeing and a calmer state of mind. A chance to let go of our ideas of what art and creativity is and just be free to express ourselves. (No art experience necessary.)
We start each session with some mindfulness, such as breath awareness, a mini meditation or some mindful movement, to bring us into the present moment. Which prepares us for exploring different creative activities, such as expressive drawing, painting to music, Sumi – Japanese painting, origami, wire creations and more.
These sessions are held on Friday mornings 10.30am – 11.30am in Independent Arts’ Creative Hub, our lovely workshop and gallery space in the centre of Newport.
Sessions are free, but donations to support the work of arts for wellbeing charity, Independent Arts, are always welcome.

Event Details
Immerse yourself in Britain’s heyday for a memorable and nostalgic day out for all the family. An extraordinary time with even more extraordinary people. Be inspired by the music, dress and food of the era that changed the world.
HISTORIC VEHICLES AND DISPLAYS
Spend your day wandering 1940s street scenes, sing along and dance to the music of the era. Dressing up in clothes of the time is positively encouraged (don’t worry if you don’t want to, all are welcome) but if you arrive and fancy popping on something vintage, there are plenty of pop-up shops selling 1940s clothes. You can even get your hair done in pin-curls at the onsite hairdresser.
Fill up on tasty food and refreshments available around the site before admiring the array of military vehicles including an authentic Spitfire. If you’re lucky enough you may even see one fly past during your visit.
Watch out for Sargeant Marmite (you either love him or you hate him!) putting new recruits through their paces.
MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT
Look out for talented duo Old Time Rags. One-man-band Laurence Marshall and award winning step dancer Phoebe Douthwaite join forces with their take on the traditions of Vaudeville, music hall and classic street entertainment.
We also welcome the dancers from Now That’s Jive who’ll get everyone ‘In the Mood’ with their music and dance. Singers Steve Howell and Amanda Jane will also entertain us with songs from the era.
STEAM TRAINS
Don’t miss your ride behind our magnificent steam locomotives. Settle back in our Edwardian and Victorian carriages for an hour’s ride through the Isle of Wight countryside. We operate an extensive service throughout the day. Your ticket includes unlimited journeys – please note that all seating is unreserved throughout this weekend.

Ventnor Day will take place on Saturday 2nd July at Ventnor Park from 12.00 noon to 6.00 pm. This would usually be the date of the Illuminated Carnival – which is unable to take place this year. The Carnival Committee are working with the Town Council to organise the event.
Ventnor Day is an opportunity to celebrate the strength of our town’s community spirit and our voluntary and community sector – with music, performance, stalls, and food in the picturesque setting of Ventnor Park
Please see our wonderful poster designed by Lauren Fry of Studio Wren.
There are free stalls available for community and voluntary sector groups and spaces available for local business and for craft stalls. If you or your organisation would like a stall at the event, please contact Tony or Alison on 857848 or 853775 or e-mail tony@ventnortowncouncil.org.uk

A monthly gathering to discuss the ancient Gods and Goddesses of the Island. We will discuss who they are, their stories and how they relate to the Island of today.
Each month we will discuss different Gods and Goddesses and follow the Wyrd Gerimboc (The Calendar of Divine Will). We will talk about the sacred tree of that month as well as the meaning of the full moon.
This will be an informal gathering, where creativity and openness is encouraged. Everyone is welcome, from those that are curious to those that may already have their path defined.
We will come together to touch the deepest of the magics, our home and the stories that stand beneath our feet.

Event Details
