The Old Town Hall has a fascinating history and our tour will guide you around this ancient building whilst telling you tales from its past.

As you explore upstairs and down, we’ll regale you with stories of Ferguson’s Gang, a group of young women who wore masks and used fictitious names such as Red Biddy, Sister Agatha and Bill Stickers.

These eccentric and formidable women were instrumental in raising awareness of the need to protect and preserve valuable places, such as the Old Town Hall, given to the National Trust by them in 1933.

This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.
